Seminar: Classroom Management and AI-Assisted Lesson Design Training

A two-session practical training and workshop session was held for our academic staff on Friday, September 11, 2026, at Bandırma Onyedi Eylül University School of Foreign Languages.

Led by Lecturer Merve Bako, a faculty member at Yıldız Technical University School of Foreign Languages and a representative of Oxford University Press, the first session focused on "Engage, Manage, Teach." Classroom management strategies and motivational dynamics were discussed during this session, followed by an interactive workshop where participants worked in groups on case scenarios.

The second session, titled "From Coursebook to Creative Classroom," covered methods to go beyond standard textbooks and make lessons more creative. Current artificial intelligence (AI) tools suitable for material development and activity production were introduced, accompanied by hands-on content creation exercises where our academic staff experienced these tools firsthand.

The program concluded with Head of the Foreign Languages Department, Lecturer Cansu Dinç Ayaz, presenting Lecturer Merve Bako with a certificate of appreciation for her valuable training and contributions.
