INFORMATION REGARDING THE 2026-2027 ACADEMIC YEAR COMPULSORY ENGLISH PREPARATORY CLASS PROGRAM FOREIGN LANGUAGE PROFICIENCY (EXEMPTION) EXAM - I (WRITTEN AND ORAL) ON SEPTEMBER 15–16, 2026

Students who have newly enrolled in the following programs of our University as a result of the 2026 YKS Exam:

• Faculty of Maritime Studies - Maritime Transportation and Management Engineering (30% English)
• Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences - Economics (English)
• Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences - English Translation and Interpreting

As well as students who were enrolled in the 2024–2025 and 2025–2026 academic years in these same departments, plus Computer Engineering (English) and Business Administration (English), and are currently studying in the preparatory class:

If they take and successfully pass the Compulsory Preparatory Class Program (English) Foreign Language Proficiency (Exemption) Exam to be held on Tuesday, September 15, 2026 (WRITTEN) and Wednesday, September 16, 2026 (ORAL), they will be exempt from our School's Compulsory English Preparatory Class Program. In order to participate in the exam, students must fill out the application form below by Monday, September 7, 2026, at 5:00 PM. To pass the exam, Translation and Interpreting students must score at least 85 points, while students in other departments must score at least 75 points.

Note: The venue and time information for the Exemption Exam will be published in the 'Announcements' section on our School's website. Please follow current announcements. Additionally, while the Exemption Exam is intended for students who wish to be exempt from the English Preparatory Class Program, it is not compulsory.

Note: The Placement Test, however, is COMPULSORY to attend. Please follow our website for details regarding the test.
