'Curriculum Literacy and the Century of Türkiye Education Model' Seminar was Held at Bandırma Hicri Ercili Special Education Practice School
A seminar titled "Curriculum Literacy and the Century of Türkiye Education Model" was organized for educators serving as administrators in primary and secondary schools, within the scope of National Education Academy’s Administrator Training Program for Educational Institutions at Bandırma Hicri Ercili Special Education Practice School.
The afternoon sessions of the seminar, which took place on June 6, 2026, were conducted by Lecturer Dr. Funda Uğurlu, faculty member from the School of Foreign Languages at Bandırma Onyedi Eylül University.
During the seminar, the philosophical foundations, structural framework, student profile, holistic education approach, and core components within the context of curriculum literacy of the Century of Türkiye Education Model were addressed. In addition, the focus was placed on transferring the model into school and classroom practices, integrating it with department (zümre) studies, supporting teachers, and monitoring the implementation processes by school administrators.
Throughout the training process, emphasis was placed on the roles that school administrators could assume as curriculum leaders—those who do not merely know the curriculum, but who facilitate its reflection onto school culture, teacher practices, and student development tracking processes. Through brief reflection exercises and practice-oriented activities, participants had the opportunity to develop tangible proposals for a more effective implementation of the Century of Türkiye Education Model within their own institutions.
The seminar concluded as a productive professional development event, highlighting the integration of curriculum literacy into school management processes and drawing attention to the roles of school administrators in guiding teachers, supporting implementations, and establishing sustainable monitoring mechanisms.
We would like to thank Lecturer Dr. Funda Uğurlu for her contributions.
