SHORT FILM COMPETITION EXCITEMENT AT THE SCHOOL OF FOREIGN LANGUAGES!

Short Film Competition Excitement at the School of Foreign Languages!

The "Short Movie Contest," organized for the second time this year by our university's School of Foreign Languages, took place on May 12, 2026, at the Nazım Hikmet Conference Hall. The event commenced with the opening speech of our Director of the School of Foreign Languages, Instructor Türkan YILMAZ. Following our Director’s speech, in which she expressed her gratitude and appreciation to our students and mentoring teaching staff for their hard work, the short films prepared by our students were presented to the audience.

Our students managed the entire process, including screenwriting, editing, sound, producing, directing, production, and acting, with great dedication and effort under the guidance of their mentoring instructors. Throughout this process, they not only gained practical experience in actively using the target language, English, but also found the opportunity to enhance their creative thinking skills.

In the nine films prepared collectively by nine classes within the Compulsory Preparatory Program, our students explored various themes using a wide range of genres, including drama, comedy, absurd, fantasy, and romance.

Following the film screenings, certificates of appreciation were presented to our teaching staff who contributed to the process. After the certificate presentation, awards were granted to the standout films in various categories. At the end of the event, the "Best Short Film" was selected through a vote that included our students, and the awards were presented to the winning class.

We congratulate the students of class HZ-3, who won the first prize with their short film titled "Enchanted Destiny," as well as their mentoring instructor. We extend our gratitude to all our students and teaching staff who took part in this project and contributed to this meaningful and enjoyable day.
