Thrace Universities Union: "Best Practices in Foreign Language Education" Online Seminar Held

An online seminar under the theme of "Best Practices in Foreign Language Education" was organized on Thursday, April 16, 2026, at 15:00, as part of the Thrace Universities Union (TÜB) Schools of Foreign Languages Sub-Working Groups activities. Hosted by the Kırklareli University School of Foreign Languages, the seminar was moderated by Asst. Prof. Dr. Ayfer Tanış Dönmez, Vice Director of the Kırklareli School of Foreign Languages. During the event, Lecturer Emine Gedik Uğur from the Kırklareli School of Foreign Languages delivered a presentation titled “Formative Assessment.” The presentation, which focused on process-based assessment techniques, emphasized the necessity of moving beyond traditional assessment methods and adopting student-centered contemporary models, particularly within the context of foreign language preparatory education. In this regard, practical examples utilizing process-based assessment techniques were shared.

The seminar was attended by instructors serving at the Schools of Foreign Languages of the member universities of the Thrace Universities Union. The event concluded with a Q&A session enriched by the contributions of the participants. This event aims to strengthen inter-university cooperation and facilitate the sharing of best practices in the field of foreign language education.
